How long does normal polish take to dry?
When you have a classical manicure at our salon, your technician will leave your polish to dry for about 5 minutes before applying a quick-dry spray, which accelerates the drying process. They will then check to see if your manicure still needs drying – it is you’ll have to sit back just a little longer to avoid smudges!
In total, around 10-15 minutes after the last topcoat, your manicure should be touch dry and good to go. Just try to avoid knocking it (easily done by rummaging in your bag!) for about an hour until the polish has fully cured through all the coats.
Do you use MMA in your acrylic extensions?
Never! Our Acrylic powders are EMA (Ethyl Methacrylate) and (nails salon name) is rigorously inspected by the local authority annually to ensure we uphold this.
Salons that offer acrylic extensions at cheap prices are often using MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) which is used in the dental industry. MMA bonds to your nails too harshly, leading to some really bad damage to your natural nail – as a chemical MMA was never designed to come into contact with skin and nails – it is too hard to be used for acrylic extensions and can tear the nail from the nail bed easily!
Will acrylic or gel extensions damage my nails?
If you have your extensions professionally applied and professionally maintained and removed by qualified nail technicians, there should only be minimal damage to your nail plate. However, constant acrylic application can make your nail plate weak so we advise a small break in between. Beware of nail technicians who leave your nails with white patches, damage and weakness.
It goes without saying that if you pick at your nails or pull them off yourself, the nail will be badly damaged. Professional technicians like those will use the correct, branded, high quality products to apply and remove your nail extensions.
How long does standard polish last for?
Standard nail polish usually lasts up to 5 days and is a great choice for temporary or short one off occasions. If that’s what you’re looking for then we recommend booking a classical manicure. It does take a fair few minutes to dry fully to avoid smudges on your manicure.
If that’s too short of period for you then we recommend booking a shellac (gel) manicure, which is designed to last up to two weeks!
How long does a gel polish/ Shellac manicure last for?
With cuticle work and full nail preparation, a gel or shellac manicure should last about 2 weeks with proper application and aftercare. We offer an express version of a gel manicure, but if you want that complete 2 week guarantee then we advise going for the full gel (shellac) manicure.
What is nail fungus and how can it be prevented?
If the natural nail is pulling away from the nail bed then it will possible that the nail fungus will show underneath. The right application and maintenance of the nail extension will help prevent a nail fungus, as well as using products such as a nail antiseptic or fungal nail treatment
Can i put acrylics back on immediately after soaking off the old acrylics?
Yes, it’s fine to re-apply acrylics straight away as natural nails are made up of keratin (protein) so nails don’t breathe. If you have ripped your acrylics off causing the natural nail to thin however, then you might want to wait to harden the nails back up, as the acrylics will just add more stress on top of damaged nails
How long does it take for treatment?
Different treatments will vary in different times. Please have a look at our scheduling page here for a full list of treatments, prices and duration of the treatment.
What’s the difference between Acrylic, Gel Powder and UV Gel Nails?
For Acrylic nails the strong resin made of a powder and a liquid mixed together. It’s very hard wearing and we recommend it to people that bite their nails or use their hands a lot.
For Gel Powder Nails the resin is a lot like acrylic and the composition is very similar. However, the finish is more clear compared to acrylic nails and its slight better quality. We’d recommend this to anyone going for a pale/nude colour on their manicured nails.
UV Gel nails on the other hand is a hard gel that will allow you to make your nails longer without damaging your nail bed too much. It’s more flexible than acrylic and gel powder and not as hard wearing but it feels lighter on your hands. This needs to be cured by UV light, hence the name
I had been looking for a new salon and definitely stopped looking when I found this one. Adam and Crystal do phenomenal, detailed work. Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Relaxing, professional and super clean. Highly recommend. Literally the best pedicure I have ever had.
Love this place! I hadn’t gotten my nails done in years due to the upkeep. She did an awesome job shape to cuticle care. She is very meticulous. Would almost be willing to come back every 3 weeks just for she. My nail girl is good.
Great place. First time here. Jonathan did great on my pedicure and my daughter had one as well. Very friendly and cared about the quality if the work.
This place is clean and luxurious. Good customer service, excellent quality. The staff was lovely and polite, and professionally manicured. Make an appointment on time, worth your money.
Very pleased with my experience at Rich & Famous Nail Spa
. She was kind and accomodating and worked with me to customize my design for shorter nails. She is also very creative. She would give ideas and ask me which one I prefer. I finally found my go-to spot for nails .
A friend recommended this place to me and ever since I went for the first time, it is my new go-to! Book with Adam, he is so talented and treats you like family.
Adam is AWESOME! I am very picky when it comes to my nails. My nail tech vanished and it has been a struggle finding someone new over the last two years. I was giving up. But before I did, I read reviews and looked closely at the photos and decided to give this place a shot. So glad I did!
THANK YOU ADAM! For an amazing job and great conversation. Just got back from our trip and calling you to schedule one posted! Could not be more satisfied!
Adam is amazing! He fit me in when I was desperate to get my nails done and they turned out great! The staff here are so friendly and fun. Great environment and quality!
nails and he did an AMAZING job! His attention to detail without me having to bring concerns to his attention is the best characteristic (for me) in a nail tech. I got long stiletto nails and his shaping is flawless! I was very pleased. Heidi also did an amazing job with shaping and painting my toenails. The entire staff was attentive, accommodating, and friendly. The salon is also very clean. I went in looking a hot mess and came out looking a hot mess with gorgeous nails!
Such a great place to get your nails done! Adam, the manager, is super friendly and will help you decide on which services you need without trying to oversell. Heidi did my nails, and she did them exactly how I asked. Perfect length and shape. It’s a very friendly atmosphere as well. This will be my regular spa from now on!
