How long does it take for treatment?
Different treatments will vary in different times. Please have a look at our scheduling page here for a full list of treatments, prices and duration of the treatment.
What is a manicure ?
Nails classical manicure consists of a warm hand soak, filing and shaping the free edge of the nails, pushing and clipping (with a cuticle pusher and cuticle nippers) and application of fingernail polish. The more advanced treatments will take longer and vary in treatment methodology and price.
What’s the difference between Acrylic, Gel Powder and UV Gel Nails?
For Acrylic nails the strong resin made of a powder and a liquid mixed together. It’s very hard wearing and we recommend it to people that bite their nails or use their hands a lot.
For Gel Powder Nails the resin is a lot like acrylic and the composition is very similar. However, the finish is more clear compared to acrylic nails and its slight better quality. We’d recommend this to anyone going for a pale/nude colour on their manicured nails.
UV Gel nails on the other hand is a hard gel that will allow you to make your nails longer without damaging your nail bed too much. It’s more flexible than acrylic and gel powder and not as hard wearing but it feels lighter on your hands. This needs to be cured by UV light, hence the name
How can i prevent the nail polish from staining my nails?
Nails often turn yellowish when a strong, pigmented polish is applied. To prevent pigmentation, make sure you put base coat on prior to applying the coloured polish so it acts as a barrier.
Or simply choose for a less potent colour
Can i book more than one treatment at the same time?
Yes. However, our system only allows one booking at a time. Most of our treatments have a drop down add on list so you can click on a specific treatment and have a drop down list to choose from. Where there isn’t a drop then, then take note of the time and duration of your first treatment, checkout your booking and click schedule another appointment. Make sure it follows after your first treatment you booked.
Why should i use cuticle oil?
Cuticle oil is used to moisturize the cuticle, skin and nail area. It can protect the cuticle and nail against damage and improve the health and appearance of the cuticles and nails.
Nail plates can get very dehydrated easily, but cuticle oil application is such an easy way to avoid this, leaving beautiful nails! Cuticle oil should not be used as a first-line of defence against dryness, but rather to fix extremely dry, cracked nails. It’s usually of natural, rapidly absorbing vegetable oils; cuticle oil can also contains vitamins
What causes your acrylic or gel nails to lift?
This can happen for many reasons. Acrylics take 24 – 48 hours to fully cure, and a slight knock during that time can cause the acrylics to lift.
Other reasons for lifting include: diseased nail plate, not maintaining regular infills, nicotine, fruit acids such as lemons, oranges, and other citrus fruits, harsh detergents, using a acetone based nail polish remover, medication, stress, misuse of nails, occupation, picking and biting, excessive use of oils and creams, or even just wearing the nail too long can cause lifting.
What is a pedicure?
A pedicure is a cosmetic treatment of the feet and toenails, analogous to a manicure. Pedicures are done for cosmetic, therapeutic purposes. They are popular throughout the world and especially among women but has recently grown in popularity by men. Pedicures include care not only for the toenails; dead skin cells are scrubbed off the bottom of the feet using a rough stone. Your foot will then be treated to granular exfoliation, moisturizing, and a massage
What's the difference between tips and sculpture?
Plastic tips are placed on your natural nails and cut and filed to your desired length and shape before applying acrylic or gel.
Nail Sculptures differ on the other hand. Nail forms are placed at the tip of your nails and product is applied according to the desired length. While the product is drying, the nails will be pinched on the sides to give it more of a natural look. After the product has completely dried the nail form will be removed leaving you with a beautiful and natural nail shape. This system leaves you with a more durable set of nails compared to the tip system. However, this does take slightly longer and costs a few pounds more.
Can men have manicures or pedicures?
Absolutely. We’re a unisex brand and all treatments are available to you regardless of gender. We’ve noticed that most of our male clients book in for a classical manicure or classical pedicure without paint
My mom and I have been coming here for a couple years now and are never disappointed. They do an amazing job!
Spring nails of 2021
Not one single time sporadically within the past 20 years have Nail trix disaapointed me or the people I take here. This should tell you alot!
Place was clean and staff was nice. Great price for a pedicure!! Comes with hot stone massage too! In all this was a very pleasant experience! I will come back again!
Been going here for years only place I’ve ever been where my hell does not chip!! I can go a month and there will be no chipping. Iv moved to yelm and am sad now because I have to find a new place. One thing I hate is paying for gel and having it chip as if it were normal polish
Just moved to the area from PA and in need of a great nail salon – Nail Trix went above and beyond. Amanda made sure I got eexactly what I wanted, no rush and with so much dare and effort to her service. I would highly recommend this salon and any of their nail techs! Can’t wait for my next appointme
I took my wife to this place for her mani/pedi and ended up getting a pedi as well. I have to say the attention to detail and relaxation was a treat.
The staff is wonderful, very friendly and do a great job!
Definitely will return in the future.
nail trix has been a breath of fresh air compared to the other nail salons in the area. i highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for a nice little spa treat on your hands and feet.
they do appointments but it doesnt seem like its necessary. we have done walk ins and only had to wait a few minutes. i guess its best to call ahead just in case. enjoy!
I had a bad experience with some nails breaking over a 2 week span that was a bit frustrating, but thanks to Kayla for taking the time to find a solution. As recommended, I took off my old nails, and started with a fresh new set. Kayla took her time, and my nails look great! Probably the best anyone’s done them. I had no intention of looking for a new salon because it’s hard to find a good one who is so involved in quality service. Thanks for the improved service!
The staff was very welcoming and accommodated very well to our arrival, as well as having a large gel selection. I do want to recognize the lovely lady who did my pedicure and when I say she is lovely, I honestly couldn’t be happier that she included herself in our conversation when it came to talking about today’s issue’s, as well as giving me one of the best pedi’s that I’ve ever had in life. Sadly I cannot remember her name, but she’s the beautiful lovely lady with two rose tattoos on her left forearm. She took her time and got every nook and cranny in my toe nails.
First thing that I noticed was how huge this place was, and how clean it was too. Hand sanitizer station, hand sanitizer at the register, and at almost every manicure station, Clorox wipes here and there, barbicide spray cans, and alcohol wipes. I felt pretty comfortable in knowing they had these around since back home in HI a lot of the places had few to none of these visible for clients. I did witness a technician wiping down her area prior to starting a manicure so that was great to see too. Our technicians were friendly, very attentive , and conversed with us periodically through out our service.
