FAQs

Do You Use MMA in Your Acrylic Extensions?

Never! Our Acrylic powders are EMA (Ethyl Methacrylate) and (nails salon name) is rigorously inspected by the local authority annually to ensure we uphold this.
Salons that offer acrylic extensions at cheap prices are often using MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) which is used in the dental industry. MMA bonds to your nails too harshly, leading to some really bad damage to your natural nail – as a chemical MMA was never designed to come into contact with skin and nails – it is too hard to be used for acrylic extensions and can tear the nail from the nail bed easily!

How Can I Prevent The Nail Polish From Staining My Nails?

Nails often turn yellowish when a strong, pigmented polish is applied. To prevent pigmentation, make sure you put base coat on prior to applying the coloured polish so it acts as a barrier.
Or simply choose for a less potent colour.

What’s the Difference Between Acrylic, Gel Powder and UV Gel Nails?

For Acrylic nails the strong resin made of a powder and a liquid mixed together. It’s very hard wearing and we recommend it to people that bite their nails or use their hands a lot.
For Gel Powder Nails the resin is a lot like acrylic and the composition is very similar. However, the finish is more clear compared to acrylic nails and its slight better quality. We’d recommend this to anyone going for a pale/nude colour on their manicured nails.
UV Gel nails on the other hand is a hard gel that will allow you to make your nails longer without damaging your nail bed too much. It’s more flexible than acrylic and gel powder and not as hard wearing but it feels lighter on your hands. This needs to be cured by UV light, hence the name

Just moves to the area, saw this place had good reviews and thought I would try it out. EXCEEDED my expectations! I got a powder dip manicure and even did 3 coats when I asked with no fuss! Very happy! They also have a points and reward system which I liked!.

My fiancé and I went here for pedicures. Wait was not long at all – by the time we picked out colors they were ready for us! Calvin did mine and Sunny did my fiancé’s and everything was great!

I arrived on a Sunday to get my nails repaired. Since I was the first customer there, I was able to get my nails done first. Usually I get a UV gel but the nail technician informed me there is a dipping gel that is gel with a shorter process and lasts two weeks. I didn’t believe him but I tried the dipping gel anyway. The gel is lighter than UV and after a week on my nails, I’ve had no problems with my nails: study but lightweight and the gel colors are pretty! The repairs were done to my nails so that when it was done, I didn’t feel embarrassed about showing my hands. I’ve been a die-hard fan of uv gel but the technician at kyla’s made my experience worth the drive to get my nails looking good!
