How long does normal polish take to dry?
When you have a classical manicure at our salon, your technician will leave your polish to dry for about 5 minutes before applying a quick-dry spray, which accelerates the drying process. They will then check to see if your manicure still needs drying – it is you’ll have to sit back just a little longer to avoid smudges!
In total, around 10-15 minutes after the last topcoat, your manicure should be touch dry and good to go. Just try to avoid knocking it (easily done by rummaging in your bag!) for about an hour until the polish has fully cured through all the coats.
How do i care for my nails after my manicure?
To keep a manicure lasting to its full potential avoid getting your nails wet for too long (constant soaking in hot baths or not wearing rubber gloves when washing the dishes) and also avoid coming into contact for prolonged periods with chemicals like those in sunscreen, perfumed products and insect repellent.
Get someone else to do the DIY or tough chores that might cause your manicure to lift, and apply cuticle oil morning and night if you can. This will keep your nails super healthy throughout the duration of your manicure and it will help keep the polish intact.
Finally, don’t pick at your manicure under any circumstances. Instead Book in for a Nail repair if one or nails have damaged otherwise treat yourself to another treatment.
How long does standard polish last for?
Standard nail polish usually lasts up to 5 days and is a great choice for temporary or short one off occasions. If that’s what you’re looking for then we recommend booking a classical manicure. It does take a fair few minutes to dry fully to avoid smudges on your manicure.
If that’s too short of period for you then we recommend booking a shellac (gel) manicure, which is designed to last up to two weeks!
What is nail fungus and how can it be prevented?
If the natural nail is pulling away from the nail bed then it will possible that the nail fungus will show underneath. The right application and maintenance of the nail extension will help prevent a nail fungus, as well as using products such as a nail antiseptic or fungal nail treatment
Can i put acrylics back on immediately after soaking off the old acrylics?
Yes, it’s fine to re-apply acrylics straight away as natural nails are made up of keratin (protein) so nails don’t breathe. If you have ripped your acrylics off causing the natural nail to thin however, then you might want to wait to harden the nails back up, as the acrylics will just add more stress on top of damaged nails
What is a manicure ?
Nails classical manicure consists of a warm hand soak, filing and shaping the free edge of the nails, pushing and clipping (with a cuticle pusher and cuticle nippers) and application of fingernail polish. The more advanced treatments will take longer and vary in treatment methodology and price.
What’s the difference between Acrylic, Gel Powder and UV Gel Nails?
For Acrylic nails the strong resin made of a powder and a liquid mixed together. It’s very hard wearing and we recommend it to people that bite their nails or use their hands a lot.
For Gel Powder Nails the resin is a lot like acrylic and the composition is very similar. However, the finish is more clear compared to acrylic nails and its slight better quality. We’d recommend this to anyone going for a pale/nude colour on their manicured nails.
UV Gel nails on the other hand is a hard gel that will allow you to make your nails longer without damaging your nail bed too much. It’s more flexible than acrylic and gel powder and not as hard wearing but it feels lighter on your hands. This needs to be cured by UV light, hence the name
What’s difference between gel nails and shellac nails?
A gel manicure and a Shellac manicure are essentially the same thing: long-lasting polishes cured under UV lamps. The difference is that “gel nails” or “gel manicure” is the generic term for any nails done under a UV lamp which includes shellac, whilst Shellac itself a brand of gel polish by the company Creative Nail Design (CND). It’s comparable to “Henry Hoover” which was so popular that people often call a vacuum cleaner a “Hoover”.
This was my first visit and I was pleased with the beautiful salon and friendly employees! I picked out a color for basic gel manicure and was seated right away. The guy that did my nails was very pleasant and did a great job! He was gentle and didn’t rush.
Overall relaxing visit and will be back!
I had such a good experience at the salon. This place will take great care if you! My tech did my pedicure and she was very skilled. This place is super professional.
Quite worth for 2 gel manicure sessions. Staff were quite nice, not pushy on selling packages. Service was great.
It is a beautiful location and all the staff were very friendly. Tina always does an amazing job. My girls and I were all very happy with the services we received.
I am so happy with my nails. I was able to get my nails dipped and the prior ones removed in 30 minutes. The price was very reasonable the salon was very clean and top notch.
I went with dip powder and I am so happy I made that decision. When I came back to remove my nails my nail bed was so healthy and strong !!! Love it.
Great service. Relaxing! Very clean and professional. This one has the nicest, cleanest atmosphere and best service.
The salon itself is beautiful, and clean. I went for a dip manicure, and they got started right away. I feel like it was a great consultation where I was able to comfortably discuss what I wanted.
Always a pleasure to sit back, relax, and come out feeling better. They are magical here. Men, no reason you can enjoy a good pedi. Your feet will thank you later!
It was my first visit and I walked in after a long day at work. Tina was so sweet and had me seated so fast (I had enough time to pick a color). She’s fast with that dip powder! I asked her for almond shaped nails and she gave me exactly what I wanted😁. She was also very careful to not be rough on my natural nails (big brownie points for having light hands). Thank you Tina!!! You were so sweet while you rapidly transformed my hands, I’ll definitely be back!
