How is gel polish or Shellac polish removed?
Gel polish is very difficult to remove with standard nail polish remover and if you peel it off it can damage your nails so it is always advisable to book in for professional take off at …Nails
This involves gentle hand filing, an acetone soak for a few minutes. Your Capital Nail Bar Technician will then use tools to remove the last of the polish and neaten up your nails ready to go!
How long does normal polish take to dry?
When you have a classical manicure at our salon, your technician will leave your polish to dry for about 5 minutes before applying a quick-dry spray, which accelerates the drying process. They will then check to see if your manicure still needs drying – it is you’ll have to sit back just a little longer to avoid smudges!
In total, around 10-15 minutes after the last topcoat, your manicure should be touch dry and good to go. Just try to avoid knocking it (easily done by rummaging in your bag!) for about an hour until the polish has fully cured through all the coats.
Do you use MMA in your acrylic extensions?
Never! Our Acrylic powders are EMA (Ethyl Methacrylate) and (nails salon name) is rigorously inspected by the local authority annually to ensure we uphold this.
Salons that offer acrylic extensions at cheap prices are often using MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) which is used in the dental industry. MMA bonds to your nails too harshly, leading to some really bad damage to your natural nail – as a chemical MMA was never designed to come into contact with skin and nails – it is too hard to be used for acrylic extensions and can tear the nail from the nail bed easily!
Will acrylic or gel extensions damage my nails?
If you have your extensions professionally applied and professionally maintained and removed by qualified nail technicians, there should only be minimal damage to your nail plate. However, constant acrylic application can make your nail plate weak so we advise a small break in between. Beware of nail technicians who leave your nails with white patches, damage and weakness.
It goes without saying that if you pick at your nails or pull them off yourself, the nail will be badly damaged. Professional technicians like those will use the correct, branded, high quality products to apply and remove your nail extensions.
Can i put acrylics back on immediately after soaking off the old acrylics?
Yes, it’s fine to re-apply acrylics straight away as natural nails are made up of keratin (protein) so nails don’t breathe. If you have ripped your acrylics off causing the natural nail to thin however, then you might want to wait to harden the nails back up, as the acrylics will just add more stress on top of damaged nails
How long does it take for treatment?
Different treatments will vary in different times. Please have a look at our scheduling page here for a full list of treatments, prices and duration of the treatment.
What is a manicure ?
Nails classical manicure consists of a warm hand soak, filing and shaping the free edge of the nails, pushing and clipping (with a cuticle pusher and cuticle nippers) and application of fingernail polish. The more advanced treatments will take longer and vary in treatment methodology and price.
How can i prevent the nail polish from staining my nails?
Nails often turn yellowish when a strong, pigmented polish is applied. To prevent pigmentation, make sure you put base coat on prior to applying the coloured polish so it acts as a barrier.
Or simply choose for a less potent colour
Why should i use cuticle oil?
Cuticle oil is used to moisturize the cuticle, skin and nail area. It can protect the cuticle and nail against damage and improve the health and appearance of the cuticles and nails.
Nail plates can get very dehydrated easily, but cuticle oil application is such an easy way to avoid this, leaving beautiful nails! Cuticle oil should not be used as a first-line of defence against dryness, but rather to fix extremely dry, cracked nails. It’s usually of natural, rapidly absorbing vegetable oils; cuticle oil can also contains vitamins
My pedicure master was great. Didn’t hurt my toes even once
Definitely will come back
I love this place – great work amazing color selection and a super nice team. It’s a modern, clean and large space to accommodate one person or a group!
I’ve gone twice now and got in immediately both times. They were efficient but not too quick where it comprised quality. 10/10! Will definitely go back!
They are very friendly, clean and have availability! They sanitize, have clear shields and do a great job with nails that last longer than most places.
Alex did an amazing job with my nails!! I’m very picky so it’s not often that I try new nail techs or salons but the salon so absolutely beautiful and their work is quick and flawless!
Love this place! I came in with my nails a mess due to trying out a different place and have learned my lesson. Will absolutely be loyal to this place from here on out! John did my nails today and did an incredible job.
Very fast, amazing gel/matching polish selection, beautiful interior (it’s set up like an actual bar). I’ve only been twice for gel mani/regular pedi but I wish I lived here so I could make this my go-to nail place.
Today was my second time getting my nails done at Capital nail bar. Kim did my fill in 3 weeks go, and they looked great even after 3 weeks of grow out. Today John did my nails. I showed him a picture of what I was wanting and he did a really nice job. Both Kim and John did a great job of not making my fill in too thick. I will definitely be returning in a couple weeks.
Initially the technician and I had a miscommunication on the color I requested, but they fixed it right away and even included a gift with each service over $45! Very cool on trend atmosphere, great service and I felt very safe with the distancing and barrier measures put in place
Amazing service, so many colors, and beautiful salon. Tony was awesome, he took his time and was super friendly. It’s been hard to find a salon i like here in Nashville but this place will definitely be my go to!
